The second half is where the number breaks.

Books post a new second-half line in about fifteen minutes, mostly off what just happened. HalfSharp reads every game at the half, every slate before kickoff, and timestamps every play before it starts. The wins and the losses go on the board.

Record since Oct 15, 2026 under the current method, losses included1. Backtest figures are hypothetical2.

What you get

Three kinds of calls. Three separate records.

We only call a bet where the numbers held up on seasons our models never saw. Each product keeps its own record, so one never props up another.

We stand behind these · BET

Halftime calls

NFL & college football

At the half, the book posts a new 2nd-half line in minutes. Our model calls the spots where it overreacts, mostly college football blowouts where the 2nd-half number stays too high. You get an EARLY alert when the first line looks good and the official call about 4 minutes in.

College football model: 61–74% on seasons it never saw. About 1–3 calls a week.

We stand behind these · BET

Opening-line calls

NBA & college basketball

The moment DraftKings opens a line, our model checks it. When the opener is off, you get an alert to bet it before the market moves toward our number. Called within a point of the opener, with the time and price recorded.

At the opener in testing: college spreads 55.7%, college totals 57.5%, NBA totals 58.5%. About 15–25 calls a week in season.

Tracked, not a bet · LEAN

Basketball halftime leans

NBA & college basketball

The strongest basketball halftime spots, with what buying points is worth at your book's price. They've hit 51–52% in the past, short of the 53.5% you need at −115, so we label them LEAN and keep them off the bet record.

Their own record, graded in public. If it beats break-even over a real sample, they move up.

The board

Every call graded at the final, one record per product. Halftime calls are timestamped at the half; opening-line calls at the moment they're made. Leans are listed separately and never counted as bets. Oct 15–17 halftime calls are replayed and tagged; live calls start Oct 19.

How a play gets on the board

Four stages, and each one leaves something you can check.

  1. Rate every team
  2. Check the news
  3. Lock it in
  4. Grade it, win or lose

Rate every team

Every team carries a rating that moves after every game, from the result and from how the market priced it. This is the live top of each league right now.

Check the news

A model can't see that the starting quarterback was ruled out an hour ago. Every play is checked against injury reports, starting QBs and stadium wind before it shows up. This week's report:

Lock it in

Best bets lock Friday at 6 PM ET for football, after final injury reports. The lock time is public. The pick stays hidden until kickoff, then goes on the board with that timestamp.

Grade it, win or lose

When the game ends, the play grades itself from the final score at the price it was posted. Nobody edits it, and losses stay up.

Best bets

Only when a rule has earned it

Best bets come only from rules that held up on seasons they were never built on. Two a league at most; often zero.

Questions bettors ask us

What exactly am I paying for?

Three kinds of calls, each on its own public record. Halftime calls for the NFL and college football, made when the book overreacts to the 1st half. Opening-line calls for the NBA and college basketball, made the moment DraftKings opens a line our model disagrees with. And basketball halftime leans, labeled LEAN and never counted as bets. Plus a daily deep dive with one best bet every morning, a buy points calculator on every call, phone alerts and the live halftime board.

How do I know the record is real?

Every call is timestamped when it's made (at the half, at the opener, or before kickoff) and grades itself automatically from the final score at the price posted. Losses stay on the board and nothing is edited or removed. Each product keeps its own record, so one never props up another. See every result on the Results page.

Why should I trust a short record?

You shouldn't trust any short record on its own, ours included. That's why every call is graded in public, losses included, and why we also track the closing line: if our number keeps beating the market's final number, the edge is real long before wins and losses settle. The methods themselves were tested on about 51,800 past games, on seasons the models never saw.

Can I buy points to make a bet safer?

Yes, and every call has a calculator for it. Buying points makes you win more often, but each win pays less, so it's only worth it when the book charges less than the points are worth. Tap a bought line, type your book's price, and the app says worth it or not.

How fast are the alerts?

Halftime: an EARLY alert within about a minute of the half when the first line looks good, then the official call about 4 minutes in, with a countdown of the time left in the break. Opening lines: the moment the call is made. Deep dive: every morning around 9:30–9:45 AM ET.

How much is it, and can I cancel?

Founding members pay $24.50 a month with code SHARP50 (50% off $49) for as long as they stay. Cancel anytime in the app under Settings › Manage billing, with no phone call, and keep access through the period you paid for.

Are the picks guaranteed?

No. Even a real edge loses often: a 58% bet loses 42% of the time. Bet a fixed small amount per call and judge results over months. 21+ only, where betting is legal. Gambling problem? Call or text 1-800-GAMBLER.

Do you take bets or work with a sportsbook?

No. We're an analytics and information service. We don't accept wagers and aren't affiliated with any sportsbook.

See all questions

  1. Live tracking began October 17, 2026. The record restarted with the method update on October 19, 2026 (college football's old halftime triggers retired, the selective model added). It opens with the three plays the updated method would have made on October 15–17, replayed after those games with the model's settings frozen and tagged “Replay” wherever they appear. Every play called before then stays public on the Results page as retired rules. Early records swing widely; judge any betting record over hundreds of plays, not a few. Past results don't predict future results. ↩
  2. Backtest: about 51,800 games from 2013–2023 (college basketball through 2020–21) with real second-half lines from sportsbookreviewsonline.com archives. Backtest results are hypothetical. They are not results of actual bets, and the archive doesn't record the juice. ↩
  3. Records count each play at its unit size (halftime BETs are 5 units, the deep dive's best bet of the day 3 units, and every other call (halftime leans, early calls, opening-line calls) 1 unit), at the price posted when it was called; halftime calls are graded at −115, the extra juice books usually charge at the half. Pushes are no action. Best bets pulled before kickoff because of news are left out. ↩
